Darren achieved a Bachelor of Management, with a major in Human Resources and Labour Relations, from the University of Lethbridge in 2008. Thereafter, he worked for one of Canada’s largest mining companies as a business strategy intern. He later worked for Canada’s largest oil producer as a human resources analyst.

Darren began his Juris Doctor Degree at the University of Calgary in 2011 and was pleased to work as a Summer Law Student with Stringam Denecky LLP in 2012. He achieved his Juris Doctor degree in 2014.

Darren was called to the bar in Alberta in 2015. Since then, he has worked for a small litigation firm in Lethbridge. He practiced mostly in employment and labour law, estate litigation, family law, criminal defence.

Darren’s pre-law background is in human resources and he has experience in many facets of labour and employment law. He has acted for individual employees as well as employers respecting wrongful dismissal actions and human rights complaints. He has also assisted unionized employees with disputes involving the administration of a collective bargaining agreement.

Darren has also handled a host of family law matters, contested estate matters, criminal defence, and corporate litigation.

Darren enjoys distance running and has completed races from 5 KMs to 42.2 KM marathons.

Darren also enjoys hiking the more challenging mountain trails of Southwest Alberta, including Waterton Lakes National Park and the Crowsnest Pass.

In the winter, he curls in both the mens’ and couples’ curling leagues at the Lethbridge Curling Club.

He is also a member of the Lethbridge Bar Association and volunteers with Lethbridge Legal Guidance.
