Profile

Scott C. Stenbeck was raised in Pincher Creek, Alberta, son of Pat and Audrey.  He received a B.A. from the University of Lethbridge, and completed law school at the University of Victoria, with multiple awards and scholarships.  He spent three years in the Canadian Military, first as an NCO, and then receiving his commission in 1993 as a Second Lieutenant, where he commanded a platoon sized unit.  In the years following his honorable discharge, he became a husband and father of three.  He was called to the Alberta Bar in 2000.

Scott practices almost exclusively as a litigator in the areas of divorce, family law, surface and landowner’s rights, personal injury, and other areas of litigation.  He ran his first trial while still a law student, and has been drawn to the courtroom ever since.  He is frequently before all levels of Court, including the Court of Appeal of Alberta, and currently has a matter pending at the Supreme Court of Canada.  While some of his cases have received significant publicity or changed the common law in the province of Alberta, he is often able to use his litigation skills to settle matters without a trial being necessary.

Scott pursues interests centered around the outdoors and eclectic forms of athletics.  He is a voracious reader, continuing to learn about many different subjects and often progressing through two dozen books at the same time.  He enjoys a trip to Vegas with his wife at least once a year to blow off steam.  Scott’s greatest satisfaction in practice is finding the arguments and tactical maneuvers that others miss, and using innovation and creative problem solving for his clients.
