Profile

Paul has over 30 years experience as a practicing lawyer at Stringam Denecky. As one of the senior partners in the firm, Paul focuses his legal practice on real estate, business, municipal, estate planning and personal injury law. He served has a sessional lecturer at the University of Lethbridge in the Faculty of Management, teaching Contract Law. He has also taught upcoming realtors at Lethbridge College for many years. He was appointed a Queen's Counsel in 2008.

His involvement in the business community includes being the founding chairman of Economic Development Lethbridge, which has become an important part of the Lethbridge business landscape. Always an enthusiastic supporter of the Chamber of Commerce movement by serving on the executive boards in both Lethbridge and Taber, Paul is currently the President of the Lethbridge Chamber of Commerce. He also served a term as President of the Lethbridge Bar Association in 2007. These contributions were recognized by Mayor Tarleck when Paul was awarded a key to the City in 2007.

Charitable and volunteer causes are also an important part of Paul's life. He has been a member of service groups throughout his career, and is currently an officer of the Rotary Club of Lethbridge and the Kiwanis Club in Taber. He also enjoys his new role as Senator at the University of Lethbridge.

He holds a mechanical engineering degree from Queen's University, and a law degree from Dalhousie University.

Paul has been married to Patti for over 25 years and their three children are enrolled at the University of Lethbridge.

He loves to play golf, squash and go fly fishing.
