Kurt E. Schlachter grew up in Bow Island, Alberta. He earned a B.Sc.(hon) in Neuroscience from the University of Lethbridge in 2000, followed by a J.D. from the University of Saskatchewan in 2003, and was admitted to the Alberta Bar in 2004. Kurt has been with Stringam Denecky LLP since July of 2003, and became a Partner in January of 2010.

Kurt primarily practices in the areas of Family Law and Civil Litigation, but also maintains a general practice including Real Estate, Personal Injury, Employment Law, Corporate/Commercial, and Criminal matters.

In the past, Kurt has sat on the Board of Directors of the Southern Alberta Epilepsy Association, the Lethbridge Chapter of the Canadian Diabetes Association, and the Downtown Lethbridge BRZ, and has also been a member of the Lethbridge Masters Swim Club. Currently, Kurt is a member of the Lethbridge Association of Collaborative Professionals, the Young Professionals Association of Lethbridge, the Board of Directors of Economic Development Lethbridge, and the University of Lethbridge Senate.

Kurt is a member of both our Lethbridge and Fort McMurray Practice Groups, and has appeared before every level of Court in the Province of Alberta.
