Steven studied commerce and law at the University of Manitoba, graduating in 1978. He is a member of the bar in Alberta and Manitoba and has practised law in Grande Prairie since 1979. Steven’s approach to the practice of law is to seek creative solutions to address his clients’ unique needs and best interests.
Steven has represented clients before Boards and Tribunals and at all levels of courts in Alberta and has a busy wills and estate planning, corporate and real estate practice.
Steven is dedicated to serving his clients and also his community and profession. He has served on Law Society committees and as an instructor of continuing legal education for lawyers for the Legal Education Society of Alberta. He has published peer reviewed articles in legal and academic journals. Steven is also a past Chair of the Board of GPRC and has served on the GPRC Foundation Board, Prairie Art Gallery Board and on the QEII and Mistahia Health Authority Bio-Ethics Committees. Most recently Steven served for 9 years as a public school board Trustee with the Grande Prairie Public School District, including 3 years as Vice-Chair.
Steven is a member of the International Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (S.T.E.P.), a multi-disciplinary organization headquartered in London, England and dedicated to the continuing education of trust and estate practitioners world-wide. This entitles him to the designation of T.E.P. (Trust and Estate Practitioner). He is the only T.E.P. in Alberta north of Edmonton.
When not at the office or engaged in community service Steven prefers to spend his time with his wife and son doing family activities and travelling.
